One Square Meter

One Square Meter is a needle-felt sculpture representing mobile pastoralism’s impact on rangeland flora. As part of the Roads Less Travelled Global initiative, includes contributions from global communities. The Turkish edition, by Avukma Üreten Kadınlar Kooperatifi, premiered in İzmir on December 8-9, 2018, showcasing local plant diversity.

Important decision for Rangelands and Pastoralists at CBD COP 13

We are pleased to announce that “The Cancun Statement” on Promoting Sustainable Pastoralism and Livestock Production for Biodiversity Conservation in Grasslands and Rangelands was endorsed by 46 institutions at CBD COP 13 in Cancun, Mexico. The Statement calls for urgent action to protect these endangered ecosystems.

Mobile Pastoralism in the Mediterranean – Retro-innovation for a Sustainable Future Workshop

At the IUCN World Conservation Congress in Hawaii, we co-organized the “On The Move: Mobile Pastoralism in the Mediterranean” workshop. Conservationists, pastoralists, and institutions shared experiences, challenges, and strategies, addressing marginalization, rights, gender issues, and youth engagement in pastoral traditions.
