We are pleased to announce that “The Cancun Statement” on Promoting Sustainable Pastoralism and Livestock Production for Biodiversity Conservation in Grasslands and Rangelands was endorsed by 46 institutions at CBD COP 13 in Cancun, Mexico. The Statement calls for urgent action to protect these endangered ecosystems.

Side Event at UNFCCC COP22
At COP22, our side event with MCNC partners was a great success. We explored how cultural practices can serve as tools for climate change adaptation, focusing on youth engagement, raising awareness of these practices, and supporting communities in preserving traditional ways of life.
Mobile Pastoralism in the Mediterranean – Retro-innovation for a Sustainable Future Workshop
At the IUCN World Conservation Congress in Hawaii, we co-organized the “On The Move: Mobile Pastoralism in the Mediterranean” workshop. Conservationists, pastoralists, and institutions shared experiences, challenges, and strategies, addressing marginalization, rights, gender issues, and youth engagement in pastoral traditions.

The On the Move Photography Exhibition, which celebrates Mediterranean transhumant shepherds and nomadic pastoralists, reached CerModern in Ankara on 17th June 2016. It showcases the work of six photographers from Morocco, Tunisia, Spain, Turkey, Lebanon, and Greece.
