We are in the Goethe Institut’s online magazine Zeitgeister!
As part of Goethe Institut’s “Inspirador” project, our colleague Burcu Ateş gave an interview about our cultural landscapes approach and how it enables the promotion of sustainable land use practices which holistically support biodiversity, climate and local livelihoods. She elaborated on the cause by illustrating cases from our local and regional projects on mobile pastoralism as well as from the Alliance for Mediterranean Nature and Culture. The interview also touched upon how life in cities is interlinked with life in rural areas and how the protection of nature and biodiversity is necessary for a good life in cities, e.g via sustainable, healthy and equitable food production.
The “Inspirador for Possible Cities” project aims to identify experiences among initiatives, academic content, and public policies that work towards more sustainable, cooperative cities. It rethinks sustainable cities in identifying and sharing inspiring initiatives and policies from more than 32 cities around the world.
