As part of our joint initiative “Living Together with Nature,” we organized our first event in Beypazarı İnözü Valley on October 27, targeting Afghan refugee children. Alongside partners like Yolda Initiative, World Home International Solidarity Association, and Hacettepe University’s Functional Ecology Lab, we explored nature, collecting leaves, seeds, and learning about the environment.
Within our joint initiative entitled “Living Together with Nature” activities which aim to develop activities targeting Afghan refugee children and based on the concept of living together accompanied by a nature and culture approach, we organised our very first event in Beypazarı İnözü Valley on 27th October. During the event which was held with voluntary contributions of Yolda Initiative, World Home International Solidarity Association, Hacettepe University Functional Ecology Lab, Play Together Adapt Together and individuals, we met 16 Afghan refugee children and were amazed by their creativity, joy and sense of discovery.
While walking along the valley, we collected various leaves, pine cones, seeds, fruits and other various beautiful things in nature. We tried to see the birds and the furthest tree with binoculars. On the way back, we laid out what we collected and started to tell; the materials we were interested in, the plants we learned during the day or the fruits we came across on the way to school.
We thank all the children and our partners for such an inspirational day in nature!
