Yolda has partnered on the Mapping for Pastoralists project, highlighting the vital contributions of pastoralists to environmental conservation, climate change adaptation, food security, and rural economies.
Yolda is involved in a new partnership for pastoralists!
Pastoralists make irreplaceable contributions to the environment and societies by protecting biodiversity, mitigating and adapting to climate change, ensuring food security and providing for the economic well-being of rural communities.
The Mapping for Pastoralists project aims to show the importance, variety, extent, and state of pastoralism throughout the world. It shows information about pastoralist groups and communities, along with their locations. It helps visualise the global diversity of this traditional cultural practice.
We are very happy to join this valuable effort initiated by the League for Pastoral Peoples in collaboration with LIFE Network, MISEREOR, the International Union of Biological Sciences and the Helsinki Institute of Sustainability Science.
