For mobile pastoralism to be maintained in its traditional form, it is necessary to develop sustainable economic models together with pastoralist communities and to share the benefits of this traditional practice with the wider public to support such communities also in socio-economical ways.
In this regard, the overall objective of the project is to better understand the economic aspects of mobile pastoralism in Turkey; to develop and disseminate circular economic mechanisms providing the sustainability of mobile pastoralism and the diverse ecosystems they maintain and to promote mobile pastoralism by showing its strong links to biodiversity conservation and climate change adaptation and mitigation.
