We are an international nature conservation organization, headquartered in Turkey and established in 2015. We continue our research and on-site conservation work at different intervals, primarily in the Mediterranean basin. With our global advocacy activities, we aim to create a significant impact on nature conservation. In addition, the Satoya Initiative International Partnership, which we are a member of, aims to create a global impact by conducting nature and focused studies. For our important advocacy activities, we have Observer Status in the United Nations Convention on Biological Conventions, the Universal Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Convention to Combat Desertification. This status increases our visibility in international platforms and contributes greatly to our achievement of our nature conservation goals.

Yolda works for conserving biodiversity through research, advocacy, communication and by working in partnerships. Recognizing that humans, with their cultural diversity, are an integral component of ecosystems, Yolda focuses on the value of the traditional cultural practises, particularly mobile pastoralism, that benefit biodiversity and contribute to efforts for climate change mitigation & adaptation.

Our aim is to ensure that mobile pastoralist communities can move freely, while also protecting biodiversity and expanding sustainable land use systems. This comprehensive, sustainable land use, research on the relationship with biodiversity and participation in nature conservation activities in parallel are also among our important goals. In cooperation with the Mediterranean Nature and Culture Union (AMNC), we have undertaken to coordinate the work we have been carrying out with 13 nature conservation organizations and pilot areas of different diversity since 2017. Partnerships will be a view when the On the Road Initiative stands.
