Last week, as the Alliance for Mediterranean Nature & Culture (AMNC) we met in Cadiz, Spain to strengthen our partnership and discuss the Alliance’s organizational goals and joint projects.
We assess and enhance knowledge on the links between cultural practices and biodiversity, and how these links support human wellbeing of communities of Mediterranean cultural landscapes, demonstrating the benefits of biodiversity and climate-friendly cultural practices, such as food security, health, water security.
We want to thank the IUCN Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation for hosting us and the University of Cadiz and MedArtSal for all the collaborations and teachings around the fascinating cultural landscape of the region. We had the privilege to visit the artisanal salt flats and learn about the developmental projects reviving these cultural practices and related biodiversity.
